The holiday shopping season was kicked off by Black Friday a couple of weeks ago, and now we’re in the thick of the gift shopping season. Have you made your list and checked it twice yet?
Chances are, you have at least one gift exchange in the cards. If it’s a work Secret Santa, where everyone draws randomly, you might have good luck and draw someone you know well. If you’re not lucky enough, however, it can be difficult to buy for a colleague that you don’t know very well. Or, perhaps you have a gift exchange where everyone pulls from a pool of gifts randomly. Surely, you or someone you know have walked away with something that looks better suited for the As Seen On TV store or an online article entitled ‘Top 10 Infomercials of 2016.’
Whether you only know a little bit about the person, or you want to give a gift that’s actually useful, we’ve got some ideas for last minute Christmas gifts!
For the Hot Beverage Lover
Winter is a great time of the year for those that love tea. While a gift certificate to someone’s favorite coffee and tea shop or a fun mug for their desk are great ideas, take it one step further and gift them a tea pot!
For single servings or multiple cups, a tea pot is a great choice of gift. Practical and stylish, a tea pot is great for anyone that loves a good brew. Use the mesh basket for loose leaves, or stick one or two teabags into hot water. Both of these also come with their own cozies, making sure that your drink stays hot.
Tea pots go great with other gifts — a variety pack of tea or creating a ‘cold day kit,’ complete with baked goods and other sweet holiday treats, are perfect gifts during the winter season. Or, pack it in with a mug (travel or otherwise) to give someone everything they need for tea time.
For the Health Nut
If you know someone that is into health and wellness, chances are you’ve heard straight from him or her about the numerous benefits of drinking water. Water, however, can be pretty bland on its own, especially when you’re six cups down into your eight cups a day.
Give the gift of flavored water, with a pitcher that allows for infusion! This infusion pitcher has a special basket that can be crammed full of whatever the recipient chooses. From lemon-lime citrus to cool mint and cucumber, flavored water is no fuss at all.
Alternatively, providing a regular water pitcher can be a great way to keep personal water intake close and convenient. With a 44 fluid ounce capacity, drinking several cups of water per day is easy! The slotted strainer built into the lid also will strain out any ice, or fruit or herbs used to flavour the water.
Use the pitcher to complement another gift; a healthy living book or a small fitness accessory (wristbands with storage for a house key while running, for example, are handy to have) can help get you up to a price you might have to abide by.
For the Home Foodie
Know someone that loves to cook? Chances are, they’ll have griped about prep time at one point or another. Super peelers are functional and efficient, and best of all, come in a set of two. No more having to rinse out carrot peels before you move on to potatoes! These would be the perfect complement to a vegetarian cookbook, for example.
Though not every ice cream aficionado can stand the cold dessert in the coldest season, why not set someone up with a summer party? This ice cream scoop would be great combined with recipes for ice creams and other desserts, or inside a ‘make your own sundae’ themed gift.
The holidays are a time for family and friends, enjoying great times and often, great food. On a practical level, everyone has to eat and drink. Why not give amazing gifts that make it easier to do that?
